It's still possible to find out information from the DVLA about your SD1 and its previous ownership, even in these times of data protection and PC. If you are researching some aspect of the history of your car, click this link, and scroll to "Previous keeper details for your vehicle".
Here you'll find instructions of where to write to. These days, however, you are asked to provide relevant "reasons for your request". I'd suggest something along the lines of "historical significance" ... DVLA charge a mere fiver for their service. |

Of course, Gaydon still provide their "birth certificate" service which is relevant for any Rover between 1945 and 1986 (amongst many other marks), here.
Then click on the 'application form' link. This will take you to a secure site for payment via credit cards - the service will cost you £33 for a certificate which provides manufacture, delivery and even special order and trim details. |
All good stuff, and not just for the nerdy anoraks. All history to do with the SD1 is relevant, and very rewarding when you find something interesting about your car. |
